Job description
The Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA) has started an ambitious IT Transformation programme that will deliver improved capability across an expanded IT workforce. We aim to improve all technology services, whilst supporting the wider business on its own transformation requirements and ensuring IT aligns to their needs.

As Service Transition and Assurance Manager, you will provide support to the Lead Service Transition Manager in the management of the cross functional and technical aspects in the transition of new services into the live environment. This includes quality assurance, security, incident management, and business continuity, as well as reviewing supplier contracts for delivery of SLA and KPIs, managing the quality and consistency of delivery and auditing the service provided.

Responsibilities
Your duties will include:
• ensuring new digital, data and technology services are effectively transitioned from build into run
• designing and implementing effective transition plans for IT services across the Agency
• planning, scheduling and coordinating of Agency resource, to enable effective transition for new IT Services
• management of the Service Transition and Assurance activities ensuring process compliance, mitigation of conflicts and stakeholder management is achieved
• planning and management of acceptance testing for IT services, assuring both service and operational readiness reviews are effective and in place both internal and external to the Agency where required
• planning and management of Non-Functional Testing of solutions to ensure availability and recoverability requirements are met
• effective stakeholder and supplier relationship management, arranging meetings as required
• line management responsibility for 2 Service Readiness and Acceptance Analysts

About you
We are looking for someone with a sound understanding and experience of service delivery life cycles, methodologies and tools proven experience of service assurance and User and Operational Assurance Testing. Bringing experience of working in a project environment and the ability to understand and identify issues that can lead to project failure, you will be able to develop, manage and maintain plans and processes across supplier and customer work streams.

With strong communication and interpersonal skills, you will be able to develop and maintain productive and collaborative working relationships with the immediate Project team and a range of internal and external customers and stakeholders. You will also need to have a pragmatic approach, which will enable you to find positive outcomes to issues and challenges that arise in unique situations.
